211 miles - no blisters!

I hiked the John Muir Trail in these shoes-- total hiking of 250 miles-- not one blister!!( Paired with light weight smart wool socks- it does not get any better than this. ) The shoes are very lightweight, which is very important when hiking so many miles. My pack weighed 27 pounds, so ankle support was not an issue. And no, I am not a super athlete- just an in shape, 60 + year old woman.

no arch support

The fact that there is no arch support is not necessarily a bad thing; just budget for an $11 pair of gel arch support inserts. This shoe gets five stars for looks but only four for cushion and comfort. I would not recommend this as a marathon training shoe due to the arch issue. Shoe tends to run large.

I got these shoes for hiking and must resist wearing them all the time and wearing them out. They are extremely comfortable; they easily have the most cushion of any shoe in my comfort-centric shoe collection. They grip my narrow heel but have plenty of room in the toe box, even with my duck feet.I'd also like to point out the color combination -- 90% of women's athletic shoes are pink or purple or both, so it's nice to have a green and gray shoe for a change!
