Nice fit, cushion, support, great for the everyday runner.

First of all, I am average in every sense of the word. I'm no star athlete, not really overweight, I just decided that my twenties aren't a good time for me to be out of shape. Upon this realization, I recently started jogging everyday, and after running about 2 miles a day for the first week in my old shoes, my shins and knees would KILL me, so much that it made me feel discouraged and I stopped running. Then, one day with a swift breeze of inspiration, I decided that hey, maybe a new pair of shoes could turn things around for me. I did a TON of research on running shoes, because I'm really cheap and if I'm spending a decent amount of money on something like running shoes I'm going to make sure they're exactly right. I saw these and based on the positive reviews I purchased them with next day shipping and alas, here they are! First off, with the pink they are really cute (not that that matters but hey, the little things make you feel cute when you're sweating like a pig.) Once I put them on I could immediately tell a big difference from my last shoes, which were cheap ones that I got from a department store years ago. The cushioning is great, and they just have a really nice fitted feel overall. I could really feel the support on my low arch. One thing I will say is that I noticed A LOT of people recommending to "size up" at least half of size...I'm glad I didn't! I wear a 9 in other shoes and purchased these in a 9 and they fit pretty close to perfectly. They're nice and tight around my ankle and snug through the length of my foot. Some people might not like this narrowness but I feel like it gives me more support, its not overbearing or anything. I did notice I seemed to have a little bit of extra room in the toe area but that isn't necessarily bad thing. If I would have gone a half size bigger than they would have been WAY too big in the toe area, with the size I got its a little big but comfortable. If your foot is really really wide, these probably aren't for you, but if you have an average to just a smidge wide foot like me, I think they're perfect. Overall a great stability shoe for the average runner with the average foot! I'm very pleased with these lovely little Saucony's!

I've been running for (gasp) about 20 years now, and I've gone back and forth between Asics and Saucony. However, as my feet have changed over years of torture (my feet hurt more than anything any given day...running distance...heels...super-flat shoes; it's done a number), I've been leaning heavily to Saucony. The last 5 years or so, it's been only Saucony.The ProGrid Ride has become my go-to. Partly because it's in the price point I'm comfortable with (I've run in grid hurricanes before and gel kayano; these are just as good) and partly because it's a consistent product. I've come to rely on the quality and the company's ability to improve upon the product each year. For example, in the 1st generation, I noticed that my toe broke through the mesh in the top of the shoe over time. In the ProGrid ride 2, this was made better; the silver portion by the toe came around further. By this generation, they have reinforced the toe at that area. For them to correct a problem before I ask (though I'm sure others asked!), it shows me that they aren't resting on their laurels. They are willing to improve upon an excellent product.This shoe provides the right amount of stability and cushioning for me, a heavier female runner who is an obvious supinator. These don't wear out easily (I log 20-30m/week not training for a marathon). Even with the supination, the soles wore down, but not out. The cushioning broke down over time (bad, bad, runner trained in the same shoes for 3 halfs and one full marathon), as I needed inserts to finish the marathon with my hips, knees, and feet intact. I didn't need the inserts I had in my shoes for my last marathon when I got these shoes. Clearly, I had run in the others for too long (I was nervous about changing shoes once I got to the high-mileage training runs, but it was a bad choice not to)...putting these on my feet and going out for a run made that clear.

I've been jogging for many years. Recently, I began to experience hip joint problems. It seemed that my hips became quite sore whenever I ran. At first I attributed this to growing older. I was wondering if I would have to give up one of my favorite activities. Eventually (I don't know why it took me so long) I realized that I just needed to buy a new pair of running shoes! Anyway, after doing a lot of research, I decided to buy the Saucony Ride 3 running shoes. What a great investment that was! I've been jogging in these shoes for several months now. 4 days a week for about 30 minutes each time out. I also did a 10-K run in September. The shoes feel light and very comfortable. No feet-dragging. Never any blisters to speak of. Most importantly, my hip problems are GONE! So yes, I would highly recommend these shoes (at least, to women with the same feet and activity level as me).
