LOVE THESE

Besides being SUPER cute, these boots are really comfortable for everyday! I couldn't be happier with these. They do run a tad smaller than I expected though. May want to get a half size bigger than normal, especially if you plan on running in these.

Okay with cushioned socks

I had been wearing Earth Lazers and Glides for walking because they were all I could find that did not raise my heel higher than my forefoot. Now I see there are a lot of flat athletic shoes on the market. I choose the New Balance Minimus because they have wide widths. I like that they are flat but the absence of cushioning in the shoe bottom caused pain under my forefoot. I mean there is not an iota of soft layer in the footbed. Now I am pushing 60 so I'm sure my natural fat pads have all but dissipated and younger feet would be fine in this shoe. But I do go barefoot most if the time and do not experience discomfort unless I'm wearing these shoes. So maybe it's the mini-lugs on the shoes causing pressure points on my feet. I tried a gel forefoot pad and it was uncomfortable. The best solution so far is to wear socks that have the terry loop type surface on the bottom rather than my regular thin socks. The look is not great, dark gray with fluorescent pink laces. I'm using the shoes but would not buy Minimus again.

Poorly fitting shoe

This is a great looking shoe and it has excellent treads on the bottom. I thought it was going to be just what I was looking for as a trail running shoe to combine my preferred style of barefoot shoes with a little extra protection for the sole of the foot and good treads because the trails where I live have a lot of small, loose rocks. I tried the 7.5-B first, which is my typical shoe size. It was too tight around the toes with a regular weight sock and my toes jammed into the end of the shoe even with thin socks. I exchanged that pair for an 8-B. I can wear the 8-B with regular weight socks, but there's still an issue with the toe box. The angle of the toe box is really odd and - for me - cuts so drastically that it feels like my middle toe is jamming into the end of the shoe. And no, I do not have odd toes that are all the same length. I wore these for about an hour to walk my dogs and could tell that my step was not natural in them. By the time the walk was over, I was starting to get a blister on my left heel. I'm so disappointed to have to send these back but they just do not work for me.
