Comfort and function merge in the feminine KEEN Whisper sandal. The synthetic webbing upper features straps designed to fit anatomically with your foot; a quick-draw elastic cord lacing system lends a snug fit. The hydrophobic mesh lining provides water resistance, while the antimicrobial Aegis Microbe ShieldTM treatment fights odor to maintain a fresh interior. A metatomical EVA footbed offers long-lasting comfort. The textured rubber outsole of the KEEN Whisper sandal provides traction on a variety of surfaces. Fit tip: This sandal runs true to size and narrower than the classic KEEN fit.

Great light weight shoe !

I purchased these shoes after looking at dozens! Most were heavy and oddly shaped and very clunky. This shoe is light weight and actually fits nicely to the foot....perhaps a wider foot would find it uncomfortable but I am a medium width and it was a good fit. I did go a size smaller for the best sizing. I used the shoe the first time for trekking in the Galapagos islands. The terrain there is rocky, landings were often wet, we were always getting on and off the zodiak and lava was a major was ever present on our walks. The shoes were comfortable, they provided excellent support and they dried quickly. These things were very important to me since I had sprained my ankle just before arriving on the islands. For the 12 days that I wore these shoes, my ankle never bothered me.

I should have listened...

I thought about getting some TOMs for awhile, and even on the TOMs website they said their shoes are "true to size". But, I have a wide foot, I can wear most medium shoes, but have to be careful with shoes like this. So I ordered a size up. They are fine and a fun little "hang around" shoe, but a bit big. Since then, I got a beige pair in my true size and they really fit well. So, I feel confident now in ordering more TOMs at my regular size.

I borrowed a pair of Keen sandals for a canyoneering trip to Zion. I was able to maneuver in and out of water all day long with one pair of shoes. I purchased my own Keens after I learned how versatile they were. I selected the Whisper because the toe is mainly focused on the Index toe and allows more air into the sandal. The Keen sandals are the only shoes I need for outdoor recreation for hiking, camping and wading in water. I would say the Whisper style is true to size.
