Keep up the pace in the rugged New Balance WT573 trail running shoes. Designed for neutral to under-pronators, these shoes feature a synthetic and mesh upper with a ghillie lacing system. An EVA midsole with N-Fuse technology provides outstanding cushioning and enhanced energy return. The N-DURANCE rubber compound outsole offers traction and increased durability in high-wear areas of the sole.

Not what I hope for....

I do a lot of off pavement walking. About six to 10 miles per day. I purchased these shoes to be my third pair in rotation. I am a 20+ year wearer of New Balance shoes for off pavement and trail walking and running. This particular shoe had a good, wide toe box, and was sufficiently roomy that my toes did not hit the end of the shoe. Both excellent features. However this shoe didn't begin to have enough padding for the ball of the foot or the heel. The inner sole and shoe construction are hard and the heel feels like it is completely unpadded. After six miles of early morning walking my feet were tired and I was beginning to have heel pain. I have never had heel pain before. If you want a soft, padded shoe, avoid this one.

Sizing inconsistent with earlier models

My previous pair of favorite athletic shoes were trail running shoes from New Balance and were size 8, standard (B) width. I ordered the same of this model (Grey/Pink), assuming they would fit, but they were too small--my big toe uncomfortably rubs against the inside of the shoe. I love how they look and the color was exactly as I expected from the picture, so I'm returning them and ordering size 8.5.

happy feet!

I received these shoes yesterday and am very pleased with my purchase. I had read on some other websites to order a half size bigger and I am glad that I did! The shoes fit perfectly! I ordered a wide and they are a very comfy and roomy wide. I have worn New Balance for years and they are always great shoes!
