Decent hiking shoe

I had a pair of Hi-Tec high ankle hiking boots, and I have really liked them. This time I wanted a medium height pair. I would have never guessed I would buy pink/gray shoes, but they are subtle, and I really like them.These are pretty nice. They are comfortable, really are water proof, and the insert pad comes out easily so I can insert my custom orthotics. The insert doesn't really have any arch support, so if that's a factor for you, you can easily get some decent inserts for support.I do a lot of birding, and these are great, lightweight, and good for on or off the trail.

I have wide feet and this says it is a medium width. Fits me perfectly with room to spare. They are comfortable, I tried them on the first day and wore them all day with absolutely no problems. My feet felt dry and comfortable. We shall see how they do when I go to Carlsbad, NM in them and hike around the Caverns. I may add more on later.

The best is yet to come.

I am generally pleased with this boot. We were at the Pacific Ocean over Thanksgiving and I was able to walked on the rocks and sand very well. I walked through streams and they are waterproof. So they are as good as what they advertise. My only apprehension is about how long I will be able to walk in them. The insoles are hard with little cushion. I will have to see what happens when I walk over a mile. Oh, they are very nice looking and well-built. I imagine they will wear well.
