5Excellent shoe!
By Evenstarv
These shoes are great for walking to and around the crags. They are breathable and I love them for summer trips. The sticky rubber allows me to climb in them as well. They are everything I want in an approach shoe. I do not recommend them for regular everyday wear, unless you are out at the crags everyday :)

5Love them!
By Dana
These are meant to be "approach shoes", so be sure to choose your size accordingly. I wanted them for some serious scrambling and minor climbing, so I bought my street size. Right out the box they fit pretty snug, but they will loosen up to the perfect fit within a few hours of wearing them. The fit is a little snug (remember, this is a climbing shoe); so if you are not okay with having your toes a little jammed (and for some reason do not plan on doing any scrambling/climbing in them), I'd order a half size to a full size up.This is NOT a problem with the manufacture. These are shoes for climbing and fit like such. This means they WILL fit snug!Otherwise, these shoes are awesome! They look SO cute and finding cute, feminine approach shoes has been a definite challenge for me. They are very lightweight, breathable, and durable. The rubber on the soles is very sticky, and I have been very pleased with their performance so far! Again, this is an approach shoe...I would NOT recommend wearing in place of a hiking boot or in dirt or gravel. If you are buying these for their purpose, you will not be disappointed. These shoes will be a definite asset on sketchy approaches, scrambles, slabby areas, and descents.UPDATE: After a couple months of wearing these, I am even more in love. These shoes have been with me on lots of trails, scrambles, and even climbs. These shoes are SO breathable, I don't even wear socks with them. The mesh is so light and airy, my feet do no sweat AT ALL. They are SO comfortable and SO practical. I actually wore these deep water soloing and they worked wonderfully. They dried quickly and the rubber stays VERY sticky, even when completely wet or in water. One of the best purchases I've made.

5These are CLIMBERS' shoes!
By cremophore
Let me preface my review by stating that I am a rock climber and am very familiar with the FiveTen brand. All of my rock climbing friends, both guys and girls, LOVE these shoes and are bummed that they are being phased out.I ALSO LOVE THESE SHOES! It is true that these shoes size smaller than expected but I had tried them on at another retailer before buying them for cheaper on Amazon. I really don't understand anyone who buys any kind of shoes online without trying them on beforehand....Anyway, these are "approach shoes," meaning you wear them as you approach a rock climbing location. They are meant for you to walk and even climb on real rocks and rock gym problems, thus they fit VERY snugly like real rock climbing shoes. Anyone who's ever tried rock climbing knows that you're supposed to size them as tight as you can bear, even to the point where your toes are jammed in the toebox and painfully overlapping each other leaving wonky bunions. Also, rock climbers are pretty desensitized to painful, jammed toes so a snug-fitting shoe like this is still quite comfortable compared to real climbing shoes. With that said, I wear a regular street shoe size of 7 and usually wear around size 5.5 (La Sportiva) to 6 (FiveTen, eVolv) in real rock climbing shoes. For these D'Aescent shoes, I actually bought a 7.5 so that I can be comfortable but still preserve the rock climbing performance. If I wanted to be able to do some intense rock climbing in these shoes, I would have sized them to my street shoe size. My toes were a bit snug but after walking and climbing around in them for a few days, they've stretched out and fit comfortably now.It is hard to figure out your size online but I don't fault the shoe brand at all for it. It is a rock climbing brand so you should know what you're getting. Also, don't consider these all-around "trail shoes". There are certain types of hikes (eg, long) and terrain (eg, loose gravel, wet) that you DON'T want these shoes on. The rubber on the bottom is a flat and sticky surface to adhere to rocky surfaces. They're fine on regular trails but be careful when walking down gravel hills and such. These shoes were not designed for long hikes. Don't buy these if you want to go on long switchbacks and steep hills. They are meant for casual walking around and aiding in scrambling over slick rocks. They won't give you the ankle or sole support you'd expect from hiking boots.
